The Workgroup

As with other areas of the village, we will have a dedicated workgroup to oversee The Nest. Comprising 3-6 members, this group will collaborate closely with the Village Scouts, manage The Nest’s budget, and take overall responsibility for its success.

Since The Nest is likely one of the most demanding areas, we propose a hybrid structure:

• A core team of 3 members who commit to the entire trip.

• Additional members who join for just one location to share the workload.

The workgroup will assist with organizing locations, brainstorming, and planning activities—always working alongside the Village Scouts to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Member involvement

To make The Nest work effectively, we will implement a schedule where every family takes turns helping out. Each day, two adults from two different families will be present at The Nest to support the Village Scouts. While the Village Scouts remain in charge, these parents will assist when needed, such as during high-demand activities or larger group dynamics.

Here’s how the schedule works:

• The Nest operates 4 times per week.

• Over 5 weeks in each location, every family will have two shifts per location, or six shifts in total over the entire trip.

• Only one adult per family is needed for each shift.

We will accommodate special circumstances, such as single-parent families, to ensure inclusivity and fairness.

This shared approach not only lightens the load on any one family but also strengthens the community by making The Nest a collaborative success.
